PART II — COOKIE POLICY Rules for cookies, pixels, local storage, server identifiers and similar tracking technologies on Atlas Sailing. 25. Definitions and scope Trackers. Cookies are small data files stored on or read from a device. This policy also covers similar technologies such as pixels, SDKs, local storage, session storage, fingerprinting and unique online identifiers. They may be technically necessary or yield personal data. Scope. This policy applies to the Atlas Sailing public website, account environment, booking steps and any embedded content. External websites opened through an ordinary link set their own cookies under their own policies. 26. Main consent rule Privacy by default. Before consent, Atlas places or reads only trackers strictly necessary to enable electronic communications or provide a service the user explicitly requests. Analytics, marketing, profiling, social-media and non-essential preference cookies remain disabled by default until valid consent is given. Active choice. Continued browsing, a preselected checkbox, browser settings or acceptance of general terms is not valid cookie consent. Consent must be prior, freely given, specific, informed, active, unambiguous and withdrawable. 27. Categories Category | Example function | Consent and maximum setting Strictly necessary | Secure session, authentication, load balancing, form step or requested booking function | No consent; session or shortest necessary duration Cookie preference | Remembering acceptance, refusal and categories | No separate consent for this necessary evidence; normally no more than 6 months Functional preference | Language, region or interface choice beyond the current session | Without consent only if specifically requested and necessary; otherwise opt-in Statistics and analytics | Measuring reach, pages and conversions | Prior consent; retention per tracker, as short as possible Atlas marketing | Campaign measurement, personalisation or remarketing | Separate prior consent Third-party marketing | Advertising profiles or cross-site tracking by a partner | Separate prior consent for each clear purpose and, where necessary, each partner Social media and embeds | Video, map, like/share widget or embedded feed | Consent before loading if the third party can read data 28. Current cookie list Current website. The current Atlas Sailing website uses necessary account cookies and the language preference you explicitly choose. No optional analytics or marketing trackers are enabled. There is therefore currently no consent banner or preference cookie for optional trackers. Technical name | Provider and domain | Purpose and data | Duration lang | Atlas Sailing; current Atlas Sailing domain; first-party | Remembers your explicitly chosen language, EN or NL | 365 days after your language choice sb-…-auth-token, potentially split into numbered parts | Atlas Sailing with Supabase; current Atlas Sailing domain; first-party | Keeps the requested account function signed in using authentication and session data; no advertising profile | Cookie setting up to 400 days; the session may expire or be terminated earlier; removed on sign-out sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Atlas Sailing with Supabase; current Atlas Sailing domain; first-party | Technical verification of sign-in or account confirmation you initiated | Removed after verification completes; otherwise no later than cookie expiry, up to 400 days Recipients. Necessary account data is processed by Atlas and its hosting and authentication providers. The privacy policy explains their roles, possible transfers outside the EEA and safeguards. The exact account-cookie name contains a technical project identifier; long session cookies may be split into several parts. Change control. Atlas does not activate a new optional tracker until its purpose, provider, recipients, possible transfers and lifetime have been published and it remains technically blocked until valid consent is given. 29. Consent if optional functions are added If Atlas adds optional trackers, it will request consent before loading them. The first layer will then provide “Accept all”, “Reject all” and “Settings” with equal prominence. Optional categories will be off by default. Users will be able to accept or refuse each specific purpose, with the relevant partners and consequences explained. Refusal will not restrict ordinary access or booking. While only necessary functions are active, there is no optional cookie consent to withdraw. You can change your language using EN/NL and end your account session by signing out. You can also delete cookies through your browser. 30. Evidence, validity and withdrawal for optional trackers If optional trackers are introduced, Atlas will retain a pseudonymous consent record with the version, time and chosen purposes. The preference cookie used for this will normally last no more than six months. A new choice will be requested after that period or following a material change in purposes or partners. When they are introduced, a permanent “Cookie settings” link will allow consent to be withdrawn as easily as it is given. Withdrawal will stop future reading and placement of optional trackers and remove previously set first-party cookies where technically possible. For third-party cookies, Atlas will provide deletion information and send a withdrawal signal where supported. 31. Embedded content, Google, Instagram and WhatsApp External services. An ordinary link to Google, Instagram or WhatsApp does not load that party’s embedded tracker before the user clicks. If Atlas later loads maps, videos, feeds, pixels or social-login components directly into a page, non-essential elements will be blocked beforehand and the party will be listed in the register. Social login. Google Sign-In starts only when the user chooses it. The necessary authentication flow and information Google processes are explained separately; an email-and-password option remains available where feasible. 32. Deleting cookies yourself Browser controls. Users may also delete or block cookies through their browser. This does not replace Atlas’s obligation to obtain prior consent where required. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in, a form or a booking step from working. Instructions vary by browser and device. 33. Changes and contact Current information. Atlas updates the register with each technical change and reviews this policy at least annually. Questions or problems with cookie preferences can be reported to maxim@atlassailing.be with the subject “Cookies”. The rights and complaint procedure in Part I remain fully applicable when trackers process personal data.
